The group, and their self-titled album, are both called Forest for the Trees. Huge oversight in listing it as part of The Screaming Trees collection. However--I do love this album!/5(50). Reply

A sympathizer might call Forest for the Trees a psychedelic album, but a detractor would probably resort to the term "total mess." Forest for the Trees tries to be everything at once and ends up being nothing at all, pleasing only those who favor "interesting in theory" collage-oriented music over some semblance of catchy songs. In this album, he mixes harmonica, drum machine beats, "heavy metal" 6/ Reply

Beyond "Dream," Forest for the Trees is a heavily-stitched quilt of processed vocals, programmed drum beats, guitar that ranges from metal to flamenco, and new age mutterings that don't quite cover the skeletons posing as songs/5(49). Reply

All in all "Forest for the Trees" is a tripped out one man home studio masterpiece extraordinaire. It's definately not music for the masses ("Dream" is one of the most accessible songs on the album). As rich in sound as it is in thought, humour and originality, this forest is meant for wandering and getting lost in. Reply
